Cells Mover @ Pageant Night

Last night there was a pageant as part of the celebration of our Barangay, not like the previous pageant the pageant last night was open to other ladies in other Barangay who wants to join because as what I have heard nobody wants to join in our Barangay because lack of financial to support the gown and other accessories for the said competition.

We had an intermission number too, CELLS MOVER. Why Cells Mover, C is for Charrice, E for Edcel, L for Luke and another L for Lorraine and the last but not the least S for Stephen. It is composed of the first letter of our name.

Dance Contest - We are the Champion!

Hi friends, I am going to update this blog as long as I can, anyway I decided to blog everything and the what's happening on the present time than blog my old picture, but of course I am going to blog about them occasionally.

May 1, is our Barangay Fiesta. Normally with these kind of celebration there's sports competition and the awarding night where there is a "sayawan" for all, last year I won the singing contest just too bad I have no picture of it because we had no camera, my sister's camera film is not working anymore, the shot button stuck that makes it unusable.

These year during the Cultural and Awarding night celebration (April 29) there's a dance contest and guess what, we WON, yes we are the CHAMPION! Our group won, we are five in the group and there are five groups who compete for the first prize.

Receiving our cash prize from our Barangay Captain, we won One Thousand Pesos ($23.17) as the champion, we divided it into five of us.

Wow, I can't believed it my last post was two months ago. Been busy on my studies and the main reason internet here is slow than snail mail. In one hour all you can do is send one mail and check your social networking sites, I have a lot of photos but I can't upload them all because internet connection is just pissing me of.

Hello friends, just want to share old photos of mine , it is almost three years since this photo was taken. It was taken after the long parade, we are in the grandstand for the opening..

After that photo above was taken we run to our quarters to change clothes for the ground demonstration. We had a special participation in the opening program and as what you have seen I am one of the "leader of the gang" our tribe's men are in the oval we're in the court.

Yeah, you heard it right after the Miss Universe Pageant 2008 we also had our own Ms. Universe Pageant in our English class if I am not mistaken. I represented Ms. Denmark, and I landed on the fourth seat what I mean fourth runner-up.

Cheer Dancing Competition

Mutya ng Mainit (The Pageant)- Part 2

Aside from dancing and singing, I also have a fashion in modeling but I am so unlucky to have this height. With my help we are able to make a good fashion show, week before the pageant night locals already told me, I am going to be the Queen or the Mutya ng Mainit 2007 because I have the talent, beauty, intelligent and quality in short (lol). I just smiled about it..let's just see...

During the pageant night, people already expected my winning, saying congratulations in advance to me and etc., a big A was heard when the emcee announced "Our 2nd runner up...(drum beat)...is..Candidate No....? 6!!!

Yeah right that was me! The emcee was startled and asked the audience "Why?". Gossips says the pageant was "luto"(cooked) or in short before the pageant started there is already a winner. The audience feel something not good with our 1st runner-up because she's a bit of chubby??? (lol) And she always said sorry in front of the judges and people regarding her voice - PAOS (got colds maybe). When it came to our Queen, she is the grand daughter of the head of the Fiesta Management, and she was not able to give a correct answer or errr... I mean too slow to give an answer not until rain drops fell into the ground.

Well anyway the crown doesn't matter to me, I didn't use any single cent to the pageant. My gown was sponsored by the head of the Fiesta Management who insisted to ask me to join "not knowing" his granddaughter was joining. Well I won P500 ($10) that time as 2nd runner-up, after the pageant I went to my gown sponsor to hand him my prize but he was so kind to refuse and says it was for me. (Thanks po).

As for me, I know why I did not win the pageant or bag home the crown (lol) because we are lack financially to support proper clothes for my talent portion, sports, formal dress and etc.,my clothes that night was just so simple compare to my co-candidates. It looks like I am just going attend a semi-formal party rather than joining a pageant. So I am sure that the winner deserved her crown! Better luck next time...if I get rich (lol, when is it). Bang to the wall!

My talent that night was a drama anthology, with dancing and singing. The story goes where I woke up one morning happy of my upcoming wedding where I dance "Crazy Frog" due to my happiness then suddenly a knocked on the door where my fiancee showed up telling me that the wedding will not going to be happened that's where I cried and sing "Luha".

Thanks to my sister's creative mind I got the BEST IN TALENT award.

Just wanna say THANK YOU so much for all the people behind the Red Shoes Story Contest . I am so thankful to be included as one of the winners of the said contest. I'd never expected it, and I still cannot believed it but my name and blog won't lie as it was featured (below). Thank you very much. My apology if I posted it so late here on my blog, I am busy with my studies and partly using internet everyday to us is a luxury, we don't have a computer that's the real truth. :)

As other people says I have a lot of talents, I love singing I wanted to be singer someday but I don't think I am talented and good enough to be a singer. Anyway whenever there's an affair in our Barangay I am always requested to show some intermission. So here I am singing "Ojo Kaluguran Daka" a Kapampangan song popularized by Ara Muna and Jumari.

Dancing is already part of my life, shake it to the left and shake it to the right. Sometimes I was asked to teach little children some dance steps I know.

Yagting Kanugkog

This event took place few years ago the school is celebrating Trustee day with a topic "Balik Tanaw sa Kalinangan", we performed cultural dance and music in front of board of trustees, teachers, classmates, family and visitors.

A pair of shoes that you can never forget

Sometimes I wonder what if Cinderella didn't lose her glass slipper? Could her prince charming still find her?

Well, enough of fairy tales, let's get back to the real world. Not all of us are party goers and not all of us wear shoes, simply because not all of us own a pair of shoes.

The first time I saw my father wearing his pair of blue shoes was on an old, blurry laminated picture hanging on our wall; my mother said it was taken a long time ago. I never cared enough about it because I was just a little girl then who loved to play and wear my mother’s shoes. It was March 1999 when I saw those shoes again while my mother was cleaning them. What was the occasion? It was my older sister's elementary school graduation. But my father did not end up wearing them because my parents decided that my mother would be the one to pin the ribbon on my sister as the graduation was not held on the school stage due to frequent raining.

After that, I never saw my father’s blue shoes cleaned again. They were just kept in a dirty corner of our bamboo shoe rack, waiting to be used again. Again would be many years later when I found my sister cleaning them for her high school graduation in 2003.

Not long after, I found myself cleaning my father's blue shoes for my elementary school graduation in 2004. My father proudly wore them as he went up to the stage to pin ribbons on me.

Time passed and the blue shoes never had a chance to be cleaned or used again. They were left to collect dust and bugs. Three years had passed and my father's blue shoes were shined once again so he could march with my older sister at her college graduation. It was at that time that my father said his shoes had a sentimental value.

After a year, my father's blue shoes were washed again for my high school graduation. Unfortunately, he decided at the last minute not to wear them because he believed that they didn’t look good with his clothes so he wore my sister's rubber shoes which I also wore during my P.E. class.

In July 2008, I saw my father’s shoes being cleaned once again; it was my older sister's wedding. My father was going to wear them that day but some of my relatives said it wouldn’t look right with Barong Tagalog. They said he must wear black, formal shoes, which my father never had since he got married to my mother. My father didn’t want to buy new shoes because he thought it was not economical to buy something that you are just going to wear once. Fortunately, one of my aunts was kind enough to lend us my older cousin’s black, formal shoes as he happened to be in Manila and couldn’t attend the wedding. Unfortunately, the shoes were too big for my father's feet.

A few days before the wedding and before my future brother in-law arrived, my mother and my sister found a shoe store in Manila with a big sale, so they bought my father his first pair of formal shoes.

Just yesterday, after a year and a half, I found myself cleaning my father’s blue shoes. Was it my college graduation yet? Nope, that’s two years from now as long as my father can still hold a hammer in his hands as he is a freelance carpenter. So why I am cleaning them? Because I want the world to see and to know the story behind my father’s blue shoes, that were bought on 1985. Two decades old shoes that serve a special purpose; a pair of shoes that have survived dust and bugs; a pair of shoes which are just cleaned occasionally.

Ms. Philippines

Taken during my Kinder year, I guess it is United Nations Day. Our teacher picked me to represent our class, yay I was the class muse ah. We encircle the town with our float ,the event covered all kinder schools in Odiongan and nearby town and every kinder school has their own representative or muse,. My partner named Chris, he was also my classmate.

I am wearing a traditional clothes of a Filipina during Spanish era.

Elementary

Let's start from the left, that photo was taken year 1998 if I am not mistaken, I was one of the flower girl in my uncle's wedding. My very first time to be a flower girl.

The middle picture was taken on April 5, 2003, during our town fiesta and celebrating the grand opening of Kanidugan Festival, the very first time that Kanidugan Festival (coconut) was celebrated. Our clothes were made of coconut stuffs of course.

The last picture was taken on my first year on high school, I am member of a cultural group YAGTING KANUGKOG and we have a performance that night in celebration of BALIK SA KALINANGAN 2005. I've dance a lot during the presentation.

Kinder Year

My pictures when I was a little kid, the first photo was taken during my graduation in Kinder, playing a role of Bulaklak (flower), -- Si Paru-paro, Bubuyog at Bulaklak. Not to mention I got the outstanding ribbon that year (lol).

This is also during my kinder year, special number during a school program. My former classmate Joan and I represent the kinder division as other grades has also their representatives.

This photo was taken during my Day Care year, it is our graduation. This is a special dance in the tune of Get Down by Back Street Boys. The funny thing happened here was when my garland split, it is made of candies. I stop dancing and says "Nay (mother) it split up" then when my mother says its okay I continue dancing on the amazement of my audience, because they thought I am going to cry.
